It has been reported that Intel is expected to lower prices of some 865, 848 and 845 chipsets as planned on March 28, prior to volume deliveries of its 915 chipsets scheduled at the end of April.
The reductions, Intel’s first this year, come as two Taiwanese chipset makers – VIA Technologies and Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) – have recently raised prices for entry-level chipsets.
