New monitor order?

Ok ...tomorrow I'm planning on placing an order for a new monitor, dvd+/-rw, keyboard/mouse, and headphones. Is there any one of these you guys would really try to talk me out of?

Seen the monitors many times, love it.
Pioneer dvd drives, hands down one of the best out there.

I've also looked at the NEC dvd +/-RW ...I'm still asking myself if the Pioneer is worth the extra $58-$60.
I've also looked at the OEM MS kybd that you refer to ...the mouse is totally different. There again ...is the fancy mouse worth the extra $20?

So much better than Microsoft. I've owned both and the MX700 is by far better than any keyboard/mouse microsoft has put out.

I've never had a video card capable of playing dvd movies ...so beside the 9800pro128 and the DVR-107 what else will I need to play a dvd movie other than the movie itself?

Some good speakers.:) You are good to go I think. Doesnt take much else besides a DVD ROM.

Ive watched a DVD on my P3 800 that used to be a POS Sony. Onboard crapy sound\lan\vid and all.

I have an ok set of speakers I've kept in the closet ...some altec lansings with sub ...should do ok til I next tax season!!!
My 3dlabs GVX1-Pro is/was totally incapable of playing dvd ...I had the player just not the capability video wise.
Don't know what kinda home I will find for that card I once payed $700 for. Not worth much nowadays ...wasn't worth that much then actually!

well I made the order ...through Legend Micro ...it was $13.00 cheaper. The monitor just disappeared off of the site and I called but they were absolutely no help ...so they lost out on a $689 purchase ...I did order the rest of the stuff through them though ...I'm a bit disappointed in them but oh well.
