... you are insanely busy?

Im in the middle of a stack of design work for my employer (I should have never told them I know a bit of photoshop) and one of my two faithful desktops (my 8RDA+) @ work has gone south with a fried mosfet. I can't use the other (NF7-S) because it's in use by the code guys for 6 weeks (as the 8RGA+ rigs won't work with Xilinx - see thread in software) and everyone is running round here like headless chicken as this is a deadlined week. Perfect luck huh?

I tried to nab an 8RGA+ rig but they have DSPs and FPGA kit installed on them now and are keeping them in the lab. So..

Im on a borrowed rig (733 PIII) which is as slow as hell, running only one monitor :( not my dual display and it is driving me nuts. I gotta install all my software on here, so I can wrap up this before the weekend (and deadline of 12pm this afternoon). This machine is poo. Make no mistake. It blows.

I sat and thought about it, why do things break for no reason.. right when you need them the most? :(

/me wanders off muttering.

Man, if it had broken a few days earlier I'd send out my MSI K7N2 on express to England with a money order for you to pay for the return flight to get you back on the road. :(

That sucks mate. It's true though.

//EDIT:

Good morning to you! Perhaps not good, but morning enough. Yep... Up at 4:15 AM.

I would have gladly have taken that offer thanks mate :)

Im considering going out and just buying a board from anywhere.

This P3 machine is unbearable, Im gonna try and beg one of the lab guys to dump me an 8RGA+. Photoshop & Illustrator are running like pigs on this thing.

I still can't believe it. Yesterday afternoon, I just smelt a smell and then the rig died. Checked it over, took the side of the case and there is one bubbling fet. Il take a piccie and upload it later.

I can normally stand anything but this is the worst possible week for this to die on me. My CEO is NOT a happy man.

Good morning to you to chap. It's 9.20am here :)

Sadly, it's called Murphy's law. Don't know what that is? Well, here you are:

No money to buy a new one :(

It a "your fault it is broken, you choose it. You are the IT guy. Take responsibility".

My only option is RMA and wait.

man..that blows...BUT...you could get a fast response out of the RMA people..just tell them the truth "i need it for work, it broke for no reason, my company has no money, i need it shipped overnight...blah blah blah...."by the time ur done with thehem...the comp will be at ur work and then u could take sum spare parts from the old one :)
