Rumor, perhaps more than rumor, (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=14493) has it that upcoming Dell servers may be using AMD Opteron processors. Michael Dell - AMD? Hmmm. Is he just threatening Intel? The Inquirer thinks Dell-Opteron servers might be a possibility.
[Michael Dell] says in the interview that it's likely Dell will introduce Opteron and Nocona servers pretty soon.

Opteron is just a completely superior server platform any way you look at it. A major server OEM would be foolish not to at least evaluate it. Intel may own the desktop, but the server is definitely AMD's this year.
