I'm currently running onboard RAID 0 with a PCI SCSI card no probs. Was looking at ordering a PCI RAID card for a new rig, but noticed someone had probs with a HPT Rocket133 with a SCSI card. Couldn't get the HPT to boot, which I need.

Is this really a concern, or did he just have the card in the wrong slot? Suggestions for a good PCI RAID card? HPT, Promise, others?

What's your mobo type?

Will be going to an Abit NF7-S, rev. 2. Will not be using the SATA ports initiall as I want to keep IDE RAID. Keep hearing a lot about SATA flakiness vs. bios, etc.

most should work just fine. Just make sure that booting from the scsi controller is disabled on the scsi card bios...

Don't have to worry about that, as my AUSUS SCSI isn't bootable! Real PIA when I cold install WIndows though. Have to temporarily use an IDE CDrom.
