12079 in 3dmark2001se. Not bad for a 2-year-old card (Radeon 8500 64MB DDR)

I managed to get the 8500 up to 326.5MHz core and 303MHz RAM ( ), and the 2500 was @ 3070MHz :wow:

Of course this required rather, ah, insane cooling... ;)

4 120MM fans mounted in window blowing cold air into room across exposed components, Delta 7K rpm 60x38mm on R8500 w/copper 1u heatsink, 119cfm Vantec Tornado cooling video RAM, 2 Comair Rotron Major DC 6.75x6" fans, a SLK-800a, and a Tt SmartFan2...

Pix of cooling

//EDIT; I THINK I typoed the cpu speed- I'm pretty sure it was 2.37GHz :rolleyes2 :shakehead

Prof;
It's probably not a good idea to give me ideas... I'm at home, by myself, with a box of tools, a soldering iron, wire, heatshrink, and 50+ fans... someone may end up getting hurt... :D

All that without ramsinks:wow:
Impressive!!! Now, I just need some money...

MCWC, I took the RAMsinks off because they simply didn't work. I got the exact same oc with them that I did without them. However, I used the themal tape that came with them, so I'm thinking that that was part of the problem. Eventually I'll get around to gluing them on with Arctic Alumina, but I'm lazy, and I don't feel like doing it right now :D

And once again, Geeky proves that RAM sinks are worthless.

That said, they look cool.

Whats the lava lamp for in the back ground? Is it to show how warm it can get in that area? ;D :p :D

 it's there because I'm too lazy to clear off my desk to take pix of the computer...

Damnit... I will forever miss those days when I had my computer like that on my bed, floor, TV stand, a box I found outside, a stack of books, in my damned lap like a baby!

I will forever miss being able to buy a whole new PC every month, or at least being ableto upgrade half the machine at a time.

I will of course miss the money I had back then also :(

BUT I SHALL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE FUN I HAD!

That comp's out of it's case 'coz I'm in the middle of modding it because frankly, it sucks. It's an Antec SLK-3700AMB. Does just fine for stock computers, but even with 2 90cfm 120mm fans, it can't handle an OC'd 2500...

I have gotten higher with my Radeon 8500 LE 64mb. Not clocked nearly as high tho. I didnt have CPU OCed as high when yo first made this thread.

nice job would you prefer a chocolate chip or a ginger snap? ;)

I'm moving both my systems from the far side of the office to beside the window tomorrow, should be worth a few MHz on both teh P4 and the AMD.

Hold on a sec. Mine was at min settings. I am guessing yours is at default. No way am I going to do better with a slower cpu, slower chipset, and slower clocked card. I only get like 10k then.

Nice case.

Simguy, like I said in the edit... I'm near-positive that was a typo. There's no way a 2500 could hit 3GHz.
