i need a controller card for ata 133 or sata that is compatiable with red hat or suse. anyone know of any, also i was trying to get somewhere locally like best buy, circiut city, etc. Come guys anything?

well its not the distro that makes things compatible. Its the kernel ;/

But the 2.6.* kernel has many many many drivers for ata controllers, like if its made by any 'name brand' companies then its supported. As for sata, i know for a fact the silicon image chipsets are supported, becuase i use them. As well as some others... You can also download drivers from websites potentially and run them as modules.
