A long time ago (read: win 3.x days) I had a program that I could import a picture into, and the program would write an HTML link map according to squares that I would drag on the image, so that I wouldn't have to write the code for the link map myself (man, that's a tedious thing to write).

Is there a free program that does that floating around now?...

Or can I do it in FrontPage, and I just can't find it in the menus?

Oh wow, that's how I started to make my old homepage (http://welcome.to/nolamers). Eventually the trial was up and I was stuck doing it in notepad... bleh.

I believe frotnpage will allow you to do it. I don't remember how and I can't check as I'm at work, but you should be able to do it.

You can always download the trial version of Dreamweaver. I am 99% sure Frontpage has that feature though.

Ya, the web-based one didn't work, and all the links are broken on the page of links, but thanks for the info. Maybe I can get the web-based one to work if I turn off some security features...

I've looked all over but I'm the kind of guy who can loose his glasses while they're in his hand, so if you can look at FP when you get home, it would be much appriciated :)

I've done that with my beer more times that I could ever care to count.

I am pretty sure (99.9999%) it does everything the full version does, with a 30 day time limit.

Frontpage refers to image maps as hotspots.

To do an image map in frontpage 2002 I do this.

Insert the picture on the page.
Click on the picture. Make sure the picture toolbar pops up.
Click on the Rectange, Circle, or Polygonal Hotspot button.
Then draw where you want the image map.

So look for hotspot not image map. Stupid microshaft.

Thanks Mancabus! The sky is no longer falling!

Well, if I had known from the start that I was asking a frontpage question I would have asked you first, but I didn't think Frontpage could do it, and I was looking for a new program...
