Well yesterday was that day again. April fools day. :eek2: So did you get fooled yesterday. If so what? Did you fool anyone? If so how?
I'll start. Well i really fell for the lie told by him whose name shall not be mentioned but which starts with a T and ends with an X. Luckly i wasn't the only one.
Eudora told me that a new version was out. I download it but didn't install it. It was the same version i had. :-/ :hrm:
A new version of winamp came out but i did install it and think that i got had bigtime. I can't find what's new. :-/
I really did order the special edition of UT2004 yesterday because it's in limited supply and i and many others wants to have it. :D ;D
I think that the 2 newspapers i read had me but i'm not sure.
So who's next.
/me climbs on top of tall tower looking for other short-medians.
I wrote a story for my local college radio station (I'm the news director):
In a bid to increase both budget and revenue for the station, KTRU has handed over control of general operations to Clear Channel and filed for a commercial radio permit. The comes after expressions of frustration by DJ's that they never get to play any "popular" music and after it was realized that by becoming a commercial station, KTRU could make boatloads of cash. The general manager of the station, in an announcement to DJ's concerning the sale, said: "I'm rich! fabulously and gloriously rich!" He then returned to the kiddy pool full of hundred dollar bills that appeared in his office yesterday. A spokesperson for Clear Channel made a public statement April 1st, stating that he was happy KTRU had "seen the light." Said spokesperson was later seen returning to a large, cube-shaped spaceship and attempting to assimilate reporters. Local DJ Aaron Reese had this to say: "I think the move is a good idea. I mean, you guys want all hip hop, all the time, don't you? I, for one, welcome our new corporate overlords." We will report more on these events as information becomes available.
khan, if you can please tell the girl who does the thursday 5pm show thanks for the Elliot Smith and Grandaddy and pretty much everything else she plays. Her show owns.

lol i shall. glad we have a fan among short-medians.
I had a freelance job last night. It was an awards banquet, and the lady told us that we would get one of the tables, so we all showed up hungry.
At the event, the key speaker decided that he didn't want to be there any longer than he had to be, so they went ahead and started the presentations and speakers during diner instead of after. So, we didn't get a chance to sit down. Then, while the second speaker was up, the waitresses started clearing tables. I couldn't do anything, cause I had to stay at my camera. I watched helplessly as our waitress threw all of our untouched food into the garbage. I was about to cry. I tried to get the mobile shooter to stop her, but he was busy getting crowd shots, so he wouldn't do it. The event lasted five hours, and by the end we were all starving, but it was worst for me and the other camera op. because we had to stand the whole time, and it was getting tough to hold the camera steady, especially at the distance I was from the stage.
At the end of the event, we asked the organiser about our food, and she acted all surprised and sorry.
She told us to go into the kitchen and tell the staff to give us some food. So we got an entree apeice, but we didn't get salad, bread, desert, or wine.
On top of that, the woman borrowed my pen and never returned it.
I'll start. Well i really fell for the lie told by him whose name shall not be mentioned but which starts with a T and ends with an X. Luckly i wasn't the only one.

While I was attending Rice, I always brought my boombox into Harjo Studio during bb-ing practice. Quite often, the compilations were replaced by good 'ol frequencies.

The real-life pranks were setup between 3 and 5am.
Little stuff: Propped brooms against doors and tacked a "rattlesnake in an envelope" on a friend's door.
Used paperclips to suspend empty soda cans above my neighbor's door. I then attached them to the door with floss. That a good way to start the day.
Rigged a pouch of packing peanuts to dump in another friend's room as the door was opened. Worked quite well.
Started a thread saying we'd switched distributed computing projects. Also worked quite well.
Made Shorty think I'd quit the forums for about half a second. :p
Quite a productive one for me, really. I only got pranked once, by MediaMan :ninja:
//edit: oh yeah, here are pics of 2 and 3:

That Suprnova was going strictly Japanese :eek2:.
EDIT: I should mention that I read this today via another forum. I was kind of worried until people started posting that it was April Fools yesterday. Nothing good happened yesterday so I hope this counts for something :).
Site change! sloncek @ 01-04-2004 00:13 Unfortunately I have some bad news for everybody that does not speak Japanese and some very good for those who do. Because of the recent events, like huge increase in page hits from Japan and a lot of problems with other coutries, we have decided that is in our best interest to only focus on the Japanese visitors. Thats why you could have already noticed the change in menu buttons at the top of the site. We decided we will start slow and will everyday change a bit of the site, until it is completley changed. I hope you understand why it had to come to this, but the Japanese people are simple more suitable for this kind of website. We are sure other bittorrent sites will soon follow us, since they will soon realize, that they will have no future in other coutries, except Japan. Also, since we got so many donations this time, we decided we will buy a satellite, that will be orbitng Japan's space and that is where SuprNova will be hosted. The satellite will be sent it to space today at 5 PM GMT. We hope that the take off will be smooth and there will be no problems... Thank you all! Sloncek

I am an OLD guy. (But not quite that old...)
I do see a resemblance:
I don't know whether to chuckle or say "pffft @ you!"

He presented me with a French news item ("this is just getting out") that AMD was changing its rating system to match Intel's for a better comparison between the two. I was in the midst of writing the F@H thread and just went right along with it :p

Actually, I would not be surprised to see that happening. AMD's XXXX+ rating is tied to Intel's MHz rating now. With The Great Satan's changes going into effect it would be only logical.
You weren't nearly the sucker that I was...
