Not only is Google's GMail having legal troubles in California (http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12205), but now in the UK as well. Seems that Privacy International, a UK-based group, has filed a complaint in Britain regarding privacy concerns. The noise is all about Google's ability to "read" emails and target advertising based on keywords in people's email. Hey, if you don't want your privacy invaded, don't use it. It's no different from the bank selling your address to whoever wants to pay for it so that they can target advertising to your mailbox.

In case you didn't know, the first ever SM LAN party is coming up fast. The information thread (http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10547) is a helpful place to go if you want to know more about it. Door prizes and exclusive embroidered SM LAN T-Shirts will be handed out. Some of the swag includes Zalman Theatre6 headphones, a Gigabyte GT Wireless motherboard, an M-Audio Sonica Theatre, and more. Not only that, but you get to hang out with all the short-media geeks. How much fun is that?
