Microsoft enters the virus detecting market with the pledge that it will not force future Windows users to run their new software, by claiming to have no intention of integrating the virus scanning software into their operating systems. All I can say is... we'll see.
The scanner will not be taken inside of Windows, but will be offered as stand-alone software. According to a spokesman of Microsoft it is unlikely that the history will repeat itself. The scanner will not be integrated in Windows and people are free to use it or not. The software package is one of the steps to make Windows a safer product.
