I have a box that records tv but hangs every 4-5 days does that sound wierd? It xp with its graphics set to performance. Also trying to run the least amount of programs as possiable.

mine hangs around the same, with mine im pretty sure its a heat issue. but if i had to guess, its heat affecting the memory ... so check that like prime suggested
no the memory is like a week old

It doesn't matter how old it is - I'd say something like 5% of the memory I've ever bought has been bad out of the box. Of course, I may be a cynic since I've bought a lot of memory over the years, but I'm just suggesting that you might want to eliminate bad memory as a possibility. It doesn't hurt to check it.

Im running memtest now, I did all tests and its been running for 13 hours. Still no errors any ideas what else it could be? what was wierd to was i tried to remothe desktop into it yesterday and it didnt work, and i had restarted the day before.

it could just be an xp fluke, but if its folding maybe ... power supply?
its not folding and has a 350 watt antec power supply

what kind of crashing is it doing, and how many harddrives do you have (im assuming its a media box)
1 hard drive, i normally remote desktop into it so i can pull the files of it. then when i remote it in to it but it doesnt see it. Also its not recording shows. Any ideas what it could be?
still doing it, any ideas? also ot seems to work if I leave the remote desktop window open, but if i close it once im locked out. Any ideas cause Im lost
