Please can anyone help?
A friend is running windows XP and she is trying to un-install Norton Anti-virus 2004, This warning message comes up.
Setup has detected that live update is running. Please stop live update and re-launch setup. Setup will now abort.
That is a far a she gets, it will not un-install.
Any ideas?
Thanks - Madasafish

try booting into safe mode and uninstalling it.
You can also try manually disabling the liveupdate service (right click my computer --> manage --> services - find symantec services and click "stop")

How to turn off LiveUpdate.
First, LiveUpdate is an automatic in 2004. Let it be disabled in the NAV settings options, then restart computer-- look in the NAV help files under LiveUpdate or Disable Automatic LiveUpdate as an index search. It will stay off as far as an automatic running that way. If Liveupdate and the internet connections for NAV are not right, easiest thing to do is let LiveUpdate run, open an Internet connection, and let LiveUpdate do its thing. Once it is done it will wait for next day to check, or longer.
NOW, uninstall NAV 2004 after you have disabled it and restarted Windows.
