View Full Version : Spell Check indicates bad grammer
As one of my little know and little listened to friends commented that my spelling stinks... (like that takes a neurosurgeon to figure out). He also said it may confer a sense that I am not highly educated. So, I took the advice to heart.
For instant messaging... Trillian (Full version) has a plug-in that check spelling. I have installed it to help me spell better.
For SM Posts (or any other webform) I found this nice script that uses Microsoft's Office Spell check to check whatever is placed into the clipboard and checks it. So... You type to your hearts content, then select all (ctrl+a) and then click on the script (or shortcut to the script) and the Office Spell checker asks you to correct the works... then paste back into the form and POOF... you have much better spelling.
Now all you need is grammar checkers....
Here's the zip of the script.

We may also need wrong word (but spelled correctly) checks as well. I hate when that happens.

Apologies for the snarkiness, but I couldn't resist the "you can only take technology so far" example.
Nothing wrong with what I typed.... (now)

Nope, you still have errors. True, you didn't spell anything incorrectly, but the usage is the problem, not the spelling.

Spellchecking is merely an excuse to forego the rigours of learning how to spell.
I aced almost all my classes in grade school but I almost failed spelling. I'd spend 3 or 4 nights a week for about 2 hours studying my spelling lists.... writing them, like a billion times... using them in a sentence, all the stuff my dad could come up with. The big problem, I am a real creative writer and can really kick out some good work.... I spend as much time proof reading and spell checking my work as I do writing...
Leave it to you guys to take my offer for help to those that can not spell and turn it into a "Q can't spell and his grammar and sentence structure is off..." thread. Thanks guys... NO MAN TOUCH FOR YOU!!!!

QCH I'm sure he told you this as a private matter, not to be posted in a public forum. As your self-proclaimed friend, let me know who this joker is and I will see that he's banned from this forum permanently.
Wait a minute, did I give something away? Doh!
