Rob, that's great. Congrats on everything. Good luck with everything you do, which I know you will. It feels so good to be out until it kicks in that you will not be seeing your friends and all, that was the way it was for me.

Seemed like it would never come didn't it? Congrats and remember, whatever choices you make from now on are NOT it. You can change any time you get the bug. The requirements are over, the rest of the world is yours to conquer. Enjoy your time in it.

Congrats on that Thrax ...what are your plans in 3 months?

Thrax
22 May 2004, 12:51am
I plan on attending Eastern Michigan University for a Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering with a focus on networking or information systems.

If the math proves too much for me to handle, I'm majoring in journalism and minoring in information systems so I can write for a magazine. ;D

Where will you go for higher education, Thrax? Your studies will center around IT, I presume? Or physics, engineering? If you say something easy and mushy like psychology or social sciences, I'll be sorely disappointed.

Congrats, Thrax. It's been shown that graduating high school makes you 2.9-3.4x smarter than a non-high school graduate.

Be careful however. Summer has a way of malfing your brain because you're using it less, about 60-63% instead of the 86% used during the school year. You'll never use 99%, even though your brain loves going nearly full load.

During the school year, it's important to hyper-load your brain with proper nutrients. A lack of complex carbs will malf your brain the point where you're using less than 50%. Protein, most notably, Arginine, has been proven to add nearly 10% more brain activity than complex carbs alone.

So that's why you should call your mother at least once a week.

Not that I would recommend a major for such a shallow reason, but journalism IS where all the honeys are at. Buddy J (roommate) can attest to that. He tried to get me to switch to journalism a couple of years ago, and rubs that in my face since I didn't. Not a lot of honeys in geography :(

Congrats and best of luck to you my friend. And this is one of the better plans i have heard in a long time lol

And as much good as you would do with the world of computers i think you would do wonders in political journalism....just my 2 cents its your life do as u will with it :)

Not sure what Eastern Michigan will have for Math but I will tell you what Math classes I will be taking for my Computer Engineering Technology @ DeVry.

Basically an Algebra II class for my first Term.
Stats class in my second Term
Calculus 1 in my third tri. I am taking this now. (This includes, derivs and integrals)
Calculus II: A Discrete Math class. My current Calc teacher doesnt even know this stuff. State of the art brand new stuff as she says anyway.

So far there hasnt been anything new to me besides the stats class but I took Pre-Calc and AP Calc in HS so this is a breeze.

I think you would be great in either field. Do something you like, thats the main thing. We are always here if you need help.:)
