UM... there really isn't a "mideast" or "midwest" US -- I would say "east coast", "Midwest", "South", "Southwest", "West Coast", "Pacific Northwest", and "Who the fsck would live here?" (Montana, wyoming, north dakota, etc.)

Way south in Florida, West coast of it. (Southeast US)
I won't mention the other regions I've lived in that gave me an accent you would NOT believe as life progressed.... By majority of life spent in one area, I am a northern midwesterner. Let's just say I migrated south EARLY and leave it at that....

I voted "ol' South", as I currently live in Virginia. (The cradle of the Confederacy.)
Two weeks from today I am moving to Westlake, Ohio. (A suburb of Cleveland.)
I am really enjoying packing up 45 years worth of crap, including over 2,000 books. They emptied the dumpster here at Prof Acres this morning. By 3:00pm I had it nearly full again.
I feel like a broken-down old man. My only consolation is that I remember feeling the same way when moving 20 years ago.
New York in da hizzouse!!!!

Good thread idea, Gnome.
Another vote Old South - Georgia. (Dang, it's flat-out hot here! And it's only May!)
Born in southern California, grew up in Georgia and Tennessee. In the Army, I've lived in Arizona, California, Georgia, Alaska, and Germany. (Oh yeah, I lived in England for a year, before the Army.) My best living was in Alaska, followed by the high desert of southeast Arizona, 12 miles from Tombstone.
I'm moving to the Pacific Northwest in August - this move is my choice. I can't handle the heat and humidity of the South. I'll be working in Portland, Oregon; probably living in southern Washington.

OOOOOOOklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain... :Rocker:
Been here for 12 years, originally from Woodland, California.
Edit - heh, I just noticed that the UK has a seperate voting option than the rest of Europe. Reminds me of an Eddie Izzard joke, something to do with being outside the European car, washing the windows :)

Hey, I actually lived in Oklahoma 21 years ago. It was only for Army basic training, so I never saw much outside of Ft. Sill.

Hot in georgia? OK if anyone here wants to talk hot how bout where me and Kanez live. ITs 95*F all year round and during hte winter is 95*F just no humidity in summer its 110 with 100000% humidity if it went that high. Its horrible

spent 21 yrs in Alaska and have lived in Texas for the past 4 yrs I hope you are gentle with the Texans. The reason God positioned Texas in the 'lower 48' states next to Mexico, so far from Alaska, was because Texans would be emotionally crushed if they realized how small their state is relative to Alaska!
Oh, I wish I could return to Alaska. My heart is still there. What a wonderful land.

Gnome. Yup, you are right. I can't stand Florida unless I'm close enough to the coast to catch a sea breeze. (Nothing wrong with the Yankee-Retirement State though :nudge: ; I just don't like hot-humid places.)

Eww! Fort Sill is not the most scenic part of Oklahoma. But in all honesty, you have to go looking for the scenic parts, as they're not that abundant. Fort Sill is actually about 30 miles from where I lived before I went to college. The Wichita "Mountains" (glorified hills) near there are ok. Good place to get buffalo burgers I hear, although I've been told I'm not a real Oklahoman since I haven't tried them.

Yes, ole South. I am growing tired of the heat and humidity too. A place with four seasons would be good but I don't see a move for a while. Good luck to all that is moving. I sure don't want to be in those shoes. I absolutely despise moving now.

I've lived in the Port of Newcastle, Ontario, located directly on the north-shore of Lake Ontario (and Highway 401) about 75 KM east of Toronto for the last 18 years.
On a clear day, I can look out my window across the 36 miles of Lake Ontario and see some of the buildings in Buffalo, NY (I think it's Buffalo).
The Port of Newcastle is the home of the Massey-Ferguson tractor company. :D

I chose East coast because that is where I live in Michigan, and I was born in San Diego, California. Daego represent! My step father was in the NAVY so I can't really say I was born and raised in one place so I'll say born and raised in San Diego CA, Seattle Washington, and Detroit Michigan.
