The weird dream thread

I've had tons of dreams that are so bizarre I can't possibly begin to explain them. But last night, I had a REALLY freaking weird dream, and since I remember it clearly, I'll share the experience.

I dreamt that I was hosting Motley Crue's website. They had a coloc server at the datacenter, in my rack, and I was there setting it up with Vince Neil (you know, Vince Neil from Motley Crue!). And then he was pissed because I had a big zit on my cheek. Then he offered to pop it. So he popped the zit on my cheek so that we could continue hosting Motley Crue's webserver... :wtf:

What the hell is wrong with me?

I had a wierd dream last night.... it was REAL Wierd. For some reason it started out with me being in Baghdad. I was running trying to find my mother. i couldnt find her anywhere. i didnt want her to be killed. so i kept looking for her. this really cute girl from baghdad was trying to help me find her too. wich is extremely odd cause there arnt that many good looking girls in Iraq. We were running around the whole city trying to find her. Then this one kid said he seen here up on top if this giant hill living alone in this house. i was like "Wtf?" so to get up on to that hill and start climbing up we had to jump across this little canyon. but that canyon was HUGE! i told her "You go first" she did. she jumped and slipped and fell but was holding on by a small grip, so i hurried and jumped across then started to pull her up, she almost slipped out of my grip, but i managed to pull her up. She was crying. i hugged her and said "Dont cry, im here" and i pulled her closer to my chest. oh man.... thats when the dream ended...

that is like the most romantic dream ive ever had.. even tho it doesnt seem like it... and now i feel like a sissy for telling you guys... stupid dreams....

I don't have a specific dream that's weird, rather how I dream that's weird.

Some people dream in colour, some people dream in black and white, some people are lucid dreamers.

However I am none of these. Here is the closest approximation I can give:

When you read a book, you hear your own voice in your head. You don't necessarily always consciously imagine whatever is being described, however the words you're reading lend an "Understanding" of whatever it is. You understand that it's a castle with a moat and high towers and dark brown bricks, but maybe you didn't sit there and imagine all that out.

This is how I dream. I hear my own voice telling stories at an extremely fast pace. I <i>understand</i> what's going on, but I never have pictures to associate with it.

i had a weird dream the other night. we were up north (the main attraction in wisconsin) in a cabin that had a door, but no walls, and was actually very nice. so then this albino/snowy-white/gray bigfoot runs up and tries to maim us all, but it runs away and this happens two or three times. finally, when he comes in next, i get the idea maybe we can scare him, so i took the stereo, dunno what was playing if anything, and suddenly blasted the volume...lol he hit the deck and then we all ran over with knives and bats and killed him. then i had another dream about plants taking over the world and growing really fast ... damn time-lapse photography biology videos

Dreams? The most common recurring - water, always water, big ocean, lakes, rivers, and usually being consumed by it. WTF's that all about then?

I dream in cinematic full color with dolby 5.1 surround. My dreams are like watching movies on a bright, big screen. It's weird. They are almost too colorful and loud.

I have NEVER dreampt of being in the military until teh 1 night I played that game.

The night after playing that game I had the most clear dream that I had joined the Army and was headed off to boot camp.

When I dream and try to remember things in the past (swiming, camping, whatever), I do so in 3rd person. If Im dreaming and in a scary situation, I am in 3rd person, but its not as if I am watching someone else. I still "control" or feel I am in that situation in real time, just viewing from above, instead of my eyes.

I think I have been having this continous dream lately of several nights. This hot chick just asked me "If I were to ask you out would you go out with me." And I gave a teasingly "Maybe." Yeah i have some weird ones to. One of the most resent was about me and i think some other people chasing some guy trying to kill him. :eek: Well in my dreams he was evil and the closest way to describe him would be that he was like jason vorhees?? I can't believe why i would have a dream about chasing anyone like him.

Sure i've seen jason x which is one of 2 movies in that serie (don't remember the other title) but he was very much like him. Difficult to kill and i don't know what. But it had been i week since i saw that movie when i had the dream. I never got him though.

I wonder if this was caused by postal 2 that i played that same day. Yet noone that has played the game can see any similaritys between the postal dude and jason so i don't know where it came from.

One thing that i've learned though is never try to understand your dreams. It usually fails.

I had a weird dream a month ago. Okay.
It started out with me laying in bed. I got up and I grabbed a sword from under my bed. then walked out of the door and was suddenly on a mighty steed climbing a mountain. I was than facing a wall of the mountain that was flatter than the rest. I began to throw bombs at it and suddenly I was standing inside. I looked about. Water rushed past my feet, a large pipe on each side with stone walls. Beyond this tunnel was a city.
I was then suddenly standing at the edge watching a man cart-wheel past me. A boy walked up to me and there was something about him that made me think he was not human. I than was greeted by this person. He said "welcome to (I can't remember what the name of this place was)." We were than sitting in a 50's type cafe and were chatting. I then asked him why he and the other people there were giving off a different vibe than other people. At that moment I noticed that all of their ears were slanted and pointed.
It hit me, they were all elves and I woke up.

I woke up the other night laughing my head off. I just had a picture in my head that I thought was staggeringly funny. You know those mechanical Hares they use at greyhoung racing? well it was a cartoony picture of one of those speeding past me and on its back was a pair of Eagles legs. The picture told a story, An Eagle must have spotted the Hare and made a grab for it just as the Hare set off and it pulled its legs off. I wish I could draw it, I was laughing for ages after it woke me up.

Then I saw this thread, and felt it was fate maybe to explain this dream? Dunno, but I'll try to explain my dream that I just woke up from not even 5 minutes ago, from the time I started this post.

It's about a dieing wish, no one spoke from what I can remember, they just knew what it was, a song starte dplaying, then slowly all I could see was a bird doing a kind of dance, it was pretty beautiful actually. The song in the background playing was, "A simple kind of man", maybe you know it, a good song, it all faded out to me waking up hearing this song on the radio, I even had tears in my eyes already. I no longer can remember what the rest of my dream was before, what cuased this to happen.

That was pretty crazy.

I was crawling in a desert at night and I was dying of thirst. I was totally parched. Suddenly I saw a pool of fresh hot blood and I knew I had to drink it to survive. So I crawled to the pool of blood and went to drink but my mouth was sewn shut! Then a pair of white hands reached out of the pool and grabbed my head and pulled me under! Then I woke up..."

Seriously, one time I had a dream that monster came out with a new energy drink that's flavor was fresh linen. Oh strange dreams, the stories I can tell when you fill my slumbering head with that bizarre imagery.

I've been keeping a log of my dreams since some time in 2004. I don't always write them down, some times you forget within minutes of waking up. But the most vibrant dreams get written down.

An interesting fact - my dreams almost ALWAYS involve events that really happened at approximately one week to the day prior to having the dream. That finding has been very consistent.

I've got quite the impressive lineup of strange dreams, let me tell you.

here's a good dream, I wrote this to read exactly as I dreamed it - jumping from place to place:

We're on a space shuttle just before it's liftoff time. We had to round up all of the sheep into the ship before we could take off. It wasn't easy, those stupid things don't stand still. We were worried about the liftoff - more like the potential explosion. We would be carrying nukes. Norm (UPS Yuri) and I jumped on tricycles and rode them at max speed to catch the sheep. We were cruising so fast through the house, but too fast. We kept wiping out in the corners and into walls.

I just had one the other day. The dream itself wasn't that weird, but how i felt during the whole dream was what make me kind of scared. I'm not gonna say anything about the dream itself, cause i don't remember much at all, and from what i can remember, it wasn't interesting. The whole time i was dreaming, i felt like i was awake, but hallucinating. It felt so real, and yet so fake, i thought to myself, i had to be awake but not thinking straight. The whole time i was dreaming, i tried to get up from the dream, but i couldn't. There were some type of forces that kept sucking me back into it.

after i woke up, i thought about it, and it was probably just sleep paralysis.

Today on my way to class I had my ipod on shuffle through my songs list. The song Dirty Harry by the Gorillaz came on, and then like 2 seconds later someone came around the corner wearing a Gorillaz shirt. Strange coincidence, so I didn't think about it much. Then a song by 311 came on and 2 guys walked by like 3 seconds after the song came on. One wearing a 311 shirt, and the other with a 311 patch on his backpack. Ok, so 2 songs in a row, I was just kinda laughing about how weird it was. Then finally I got to the classroom and sat down. One by Metallica came on, and that very second my friend walked in wearing a Metallica shirt. It felt like a dream. Pretty strange, huh?

I almost never remember my dreams but when I do I remember them forever it seems. the last time I had a dream was when I was pregnant. I kept dreaming that I was going to have a girl. by the time she was big enough to find out she kept hiding. finally when I was 7 months pregnant we finally found out that we were having a girl.
