It's a bit odd, I'm 26 and many of my friends who are my age or even younger are losing their hair at a rapid pace... Something in the air or water, maybe?

My hair is as it always was - thick and full. The occasional grey, no biggie yet.

Nice and thick although I'm only 19 ;D None of my family on my mother's side is bald so I don't think I'll have much of a problem.

Oh also CRT monitors make you go bald cause they throw positive ions at you that speed up the aging process killing your hair follicals and eventually your brain too.

So what have we learned? Buy LCD with no EMF emissions!!

I'm 35, my 4-head started becoming a 5+ head when I was 20-21. So I just cut it short. Never did that landshark/comb-over BS. Not into the Hair Club for Men or hair plug scene either. Now I just Mach 3 it every other day.

If they come up with a permenant, re-growth method that I won't have to mess with every day, I'd think about it, otherwise I'll stay like I am.

For you guys that shave it smooth check out the Headblade. The blade and the Head Slick work great.

Mine has started thinning on the top a bit. I really don't care. I have loads of 'silver streaks' I really don't care. I'm 51, it's to be expected. What you see is what you get, no cover ups, no colours, cut it really short every few months so I don't have to bother with it for a bit. Hair? it's over rated as far as I can see.

I dont know what to put on this one. I have a full head of hair but keep it as short as possible. No guard on the clippers and I have shaved it bald more than once.

My hair used to be real thick. Now it is getting grey, thinning and my forehead is twice as big as it used to be. :(

Still got lots of hair, just showing more of my forehead and it is getting a bit grey. Only to be expected at 57, i guess.

Never use shampoo or conditioner, just bars of soap.

My hair is pulling back a bit, too. I think it's in self-defence to keep my baby from pulling it out. She pulls anyone's hair that gets too close.

But seriously, my Dad was monkishly bald at 28, so I am WAY ahead of the game...I'm 34.

Thick as hell. A foppish brillo-pad of hair if I let it grow. Go me.

Same here.... Everyone keeps making fun of my apparent lack of hair when in fact, I have a nice head of hair. I learned 7 years ago that my lack of motivation in the mornings is better suited to have short hair. I do have a nice widows peak going though...

I have though of growing my hair out just to check and see if I still can grow it.... Naw... As short as the trimmer can go!!!

My hair?

Going... going... GONE!

Actually, I have it grown out a bit now, cherrishing the moments before I turn into my dad, and everyone else in my family. But I have had the receeding hairline since I was in Highschool, watching it slowly loose ground to the flesh. Damned flesh.

Nothing credible, I'm sure. This myth has been around forever, and its been proven time and time again to be false. Why people continue to believe it, I will never know.

Here's one editorial dealing with it:
http://www.dansdata.com/sbs22.htm

Much has been made by some people - particularly those selling monitor radiation shields - of the supposed health risks of the emanations from computers in general and monitors in particular.

There is evidence that EMR (electromagnetic radiation) - specifically, the radiation from mobile phones - can have effects on living tissue beyond those expected from simple heating. But it most certainly does not follow from this that even high levels of mobile phone-type radiation actually cause any adverse effects at all in humans. Epidemiological evidence doesn't support such a conclusion, despite sensationalistic reporting of inconclusive studies. Since radiation from computers is both a great deal weaker and at very different frequencies from mobile phone radio waves, there is no reason at all to suppose that your PC is giving you cancer, or making you infertile, or whatever the panic-mongers are alleging this week.

Sitting in a bad chair typing frantically for hours isn't good for you, and if you spend all of your time in front of a PC instead of getting some exercise, your health most certainly is at risk. But since everybody already knows this and most people ignore it, it doesn't make the headlines.

Also see http://www.childrenssoftware.com/sixmyths
In our daily lives, we are constantly bombarded by a spectrum of radiation. The electromagnetic rays given off by the computer are of the safe, nonionizing variety. A number of useful studies have been conducted by scientists at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Radiological Health and Devices, Bell Laboratories, and The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. The data from their work indicates that computer VDTs "…emit little or no harmful ionizing (e.g., x-rays) or nonionizing (e.g., infrared) radiation under normal operating conditions." In fact, according to their report, the amount of ultraviolet radiation produced by a typical computer monitor is a small fraction of that produced by florescent lighting (See NIOSH Publication No. 81-129, June 1981).

Sometimes I wonder where people come up with these ideas, you know that?

Metomeya. We're not taking a stab at you. There are so many news outlets, including most of the major ones, that consistently get science wrong, time and again. It's often hard to decipher real, validated research from the bilge in the media. Journalists/reporters are not known for having studied the hard disciplines in college.

I heard on the discovery channel like a year ago that losing your hair is just evolution doing its job. They say that eventually no one will have hair.

So according to that not only am I not evolved because I have a lot of hair but I also have a molar with a double root which is a Neanderthal trait

YAY go me :banghead:

Don't beat yourself up about it bro... look at it the way I do. I am one of few Intelligent Barbaric ***holes on this planet. The Neanderthal traits show you to be a strong man, and the balding shows you to be a well evolved intelligent being.

I get really nervous when people make statements like that without any indication that they're joking, because as sad as it is, the number of people I've met that actually believe stuff like that scares the crap out of me. ;D

I'm pretty damn thin all the way to the back, but the sides are still nice and thick. Also, my hair's gone just about totally silver gray(what's left of it). It's all genetics, my Mom's father was bald as an egg across the top by the time he was 25 and I evidently inherited those genes. I really don't worry about it anymore; that's what caps are for.

My hair really sucks. its thin. not because im old (wich im not) but because my mom had really thin hair, and she had to pass it down to me... i cant do anything with it... stupid hair... ive had the same hairstyle since like 8th grade. lol

Well, maybe the concept - combing forward and all...but that guy looks like a dead possum on the side of the road that's been ripening in the sun for a couple days!
