This was (http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4820). It was a pretty big story at the time.

We're averaging more than a third of that usually, which is pretty darn good. :cool2:

Yeah and after all that big deal and ATi wanting to hear direct info from people experiencing the problem and I sent them my detailed account of it to that Terry Makedon fellow, I never even got back an acknowledgement that they read it :shakehead :shakehead

Doesn't really surprise me. ATi's tech support is NOTORIOUSLY crappy. Their RMA department, on the other hand, works just fine.

Solution: Buy ASUS-built ATi-based cards in future. :D

I'm glad I asked. I had never heard of this at the time. Thanks!

That's the post that made me a believer in SM!

At the time of that post I was doing some research on ATi driver problems for a couple friends. The professionalism of all involved in that thread really impressed me.
I had visited other forums, before stopping on SM, all they did was flame the hell out of ATi, without posting any facts to support their oppinions. SimGuy's neutrality throughout the entire post was awesome.

I wonder how much higher the numbers would have been if there were more bots like there is now.

Could always start a thread about the Cat 4.5s doing the same thing and see.... ;D ;D

Yeah but if people had problems with the 4.5 we would here about it. At least from me. :) Don't get me into the bashing mood or i'll make the official flame thread a really long one. :rarr:

Edit
How about a discussion about omegasearch. That would draw a crowd. ;D

ATI's RMA department still has issues... like giving you a R9700 Non-Pro when you RMA'd a R9700 Pro. Or sending you a broken card. Très uncool.

Either built by Asus or Sapphire. That's the ticket. :)
