Copying the active partition on my 120GB Drive (partition=14GB, 7GB Used)
to my "new" 10GB.

Why? because my 120 is going in an external enclosure :-)

Nooooooooo. Ghost is an AWFUL piece of software. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. PowerQuest's DriveImage is the only other software that I know of that does the same thing, and it's marginally better. I'd use that.

User error. Go away.

I haven't had a single problem and I bet most people haven't either. Infact, I've seen more people have problems with DriveImage. Sometimes couldn't restore the image.

The versions of ghost that don't have the modern crap in windows interface are great. After Ghost 2001 it went seriously downhill but the backend is still there for use if you know what you're doing. Ghost wins hands down over driveimage imho.

If Norton Ghost is so good, then why did they buy powerquest and put up a page that says they are going to incorporate the best of driveImage into ghost.. which is all of PQ.

I load about 80 images a month with drive image and never have a problem...

I may give trueimage a try. Why do I hate ghost?
-It won't back up stuff over my network (neither will driveimage tho; this may be due to how I have the network configured)
-Ghost is the only piece of software that I have ever seen that managed to make my firewire hard drive (which I use to store images) DISAPPEAR. What do I mean? Install ghost, windows stops detecting the hard drive. Uninstall ghost, and the hard drive is back.

Like I said, I hate ghost.
