Im after some ideas as to what could be causing my sudden state of lockups this evening :(

Rig:

Athlon 64 3200+
MSI K8T NEO
Twinmos 2 x 256mb memory
2 x Raptors

So.. Im checking mail talking to -tk on the phone when it suddenly freezes, I reboot.. nothing.. absolutely dead.. will not post. Power down and power back up, rig comes to life. Boots into Windows, then freezes. Power down, reboot (twice) and it comes up, boot into windows and freezes.

Power down and start thinking about likely problem components...

Tested both raptors with the DataLifeguard and both are perfect, no errors.

Tested memory with memtest ( prime :p ) and no errors.

Temps: CPU 38c // System 32c ( it is hot here in the UK, nearly 30c outside ), all fans spinning and all ok.

Checked power rails:

+12v: 12.228
-12v: -12.646
+3.3v: 3.481
+5v: 5.250
-5v: -5.170

Nothing unusual there..

Has also twice hardlocked in the BIOS, requiring a full reboot (soft reset is flaky as hell all of a sudden)..

What do u think??? motherboard dying? :(

Sounds like something is corrupted... Did you try clearing the cmos to see if that had any effect?
