OK, so tonight I got bored and wanted to try some alternate browsers. First off, Firefox blows, it's worse than IE and slower due to it's not being part of the shell

MyIE2 is good, few personal issues, though, all dealing with Favorites. When I click on a Favorite, how can I force it to either a)use the window I'm currently on or b) make it _switch_ to the new window it opens. Can't tell you how many times already I've opened a Favorite 3+ times just cuz I forget to look at the tab. Next: is there a way I can organize my Favorites to how *I* want them and not alphabetical? (I like frequent ones, like Short-Media, at the top :)). And is there a way to custom organize the Favorites Bar (the one right above the tabbed windows? I've been digging quite a bit and can't come across these few options, thanks in advance :D

first off, Firefox is, by everything i've been able to see, better in every way than ie. it does a better job loading and caching pages, which is really all the internet is about anyway. but for that same ability, opera gets the top score from me. for some reason even when my connection is going on and off, opera seems to have no problems continuing on with its loading. if i had to rank browsers by how much i like them

1) Opera
2) Firefox
3) Safari
4) IE and Shells (MyIE, Avant, etc)

well, maybe under the hood Firefox is more efficient...but personally, the only reason I even thought about switching wasn't because IE was having issues - far from it. I just didn't like having 8,000 windows open all the time (which I usually did). I liked MyIE2 for that reason, and the fact that it simply includes lots of system options that IE doesn't, and should.

one of the reasons i like non IE-based browsers is because of the security holes that IE has that these others done

Actually. By default Firefox isn't all that. You gotta tweak it. After that, the pages load pretty fast. Losts of extensions to choose from too.

I just didn't like the feel of Firefox. And pages have almost never loaded slowly; I generally get about 2.8-3 mbps downstream. IE, and pretty much any browser I would think, can open pages fast with that kind of speed anyhow. So now I'm just tweaking myie...I wish there was a way clicking the shortcut again would open a new window ... that's gonna be a helluva habit to break, as I usually have it in my QuickLaunch, and clicking, then clicking new, THEN typing won't sit well with me. :-/
