View Full Version : How Many $$$ are on Your Keyring?

I just go into the office preparing to get work after reading a few Short-Media snippits when I noticed my keys were still out. I thought to myself I can leave them out and they should be OK but then it hit me; if for some reason they "walked" I'd be out about $350 bucks... I decided I best put them away.
So in traditional Slashdot fashion... How much money is hanging from your keyring?

Not counting my car nothing really. I have a house key, a key to both of our offices, and my car key. I hate to have a lot of stuff in my pockets when I"m walking around. It feels nice to not have any keys to poke my leg and all.
I have $250 in the form of EPoX 8KHA+ and EPoX 8RDA+ northbridges.
GG EPoX.

If I lost my campus keys, it's a $100 fine per key. Let's see, that'd be... $600.

$50 cause of my 256MB Cruzer Mini. Otherwise it's car/house/office keys.

Not including the cars... maybe $30? I've got an Athlon XP 1500+ and 4MB of RAM from an Intel 740 video card.
VW key, no ring.... so $600... that's what it costs to re cut the key and add the remote.... I'm like clutch.... less in pockets, more comfort.

Atleast you guys got keychains worth something. All I've got is a rubber ES logo that came with my shoes. :grumble:
All I have are car and truck keys as well as keys to my apartment and my mom's house. Aside from that I have a sweet Ohio State Buckeyes keychain that looks like a bottlecap!

Keys!!!??!! You guys got keys?? Crap...we Canadians just have mini-blowtorches to melt the ice to make a hole so we can crawl into our Igloos. Sucks for security but if you lose your keys you can always borrow your neighbors. Funny how they always seem to have a key that works equally as well on my Igloo.
See, here in the states, we have faux-beavers with bristles to scrub our feet of. Those cruel bastards in Canada just tack the real thing to the ice :(

So! What would you do without a place to put a doorbell? The beaver squeaks when you step on it. Works just as well.

Just buy a replacment keyless entry gizmo on eBay for less than $20. My sis lost mine when I first got the car, and it just took an eBay trip, 3 days (for shipping) and 30 seconds to reprogram it for the car. It would have been over $100 had I gotten it done at a dealer.
0$
I have one house key that gets me through the front door, a side door key that no longer works, and I've never had an inner door key. I think my parents are trying to tell me something.

No large sized augers driven with gas engines??? :D I always used a shovel to get out of my igloo when camping in winter in Northern IL, southern WI, or MI. Called an aluminum Boy Scout plate\bowl combo dish, arm was handle.... :D (Just humour in kind for kind...)
Oh, I'm sorry, back to topic.... 9 keys on a car alarm entry fob. Four keys are for the computers, two of those are for the locking IDE HD cold-swap bays.

That was.. Just.. Horrible in too many ways. :(
Err...how about keyrings. I have 3 different keyrings in my pocket.
First keyring: Err...about 19 keys :wow2:, house keys, bedroom, padlocks, garage, desk, my car's valet key, and a Leatherman micro. Probably worth $40.
Second keyring: Car key, steering wheel lock, gas cap and alarm remote. Cost, ???
Third keyring: Car keys to my dad's car, gas cap and half a stick of cache. Cost, ???
