Ok a little older school stuff. I have a ASUS P2B with a P2 400 cpu and i'm unable to get the my 15 gig Quantum hard drive to recognize in the bios. I have the jumper correct (master) The cable is plugged in correctly and have tried 3 different cables. I've updated the bios still no go. I know the HD works as my P4 will see it. I've tried 2 other Hard drives one being a maxtor 8 gig and the other being a maxtor 40 gig. They won't recognize either. Any help you guys could give my will be greatly accepted.

Thanks in advance

Not sure. Did you keep the cable the same in both tests? Its the cable or the ide channel but if you didn't keep the cable the same then we don't know yet if its the cable or the ide channel.

Try it with THE SAMEW CABLE in both ide connectors to see if its the cable or a ide channel prob.

Its usually a cable related prob. Either the cable wasn't pushe din good or its a bad cable etc..
