CoD sound.

Hi guys,
It started taking an age for CoD to start so I reinstalled it, then applied the 1.4 patch and direct x 9b. It still takes an age to start but now the sounds are terrible, bassy and muffled. Any ideas?

Unfortunately you can't change them, non-game installed .pk3 files are blocked to enforce anti-cheat rules and such. I think it's blatantly retarded because it's not a fantastic way to cheat at that, plus no one can change any models unless the server has them allowed.

So, I like to think I own up to my mistakes so here goes.
It was me.
I'd totally forgotten there was a setting in the options you could change. You can select a couple of sound option, I tried them all before I posted but after looking again, if you click the option a few times it changes from 11k low quality to 44k high quality. Ear muffs are removed. Sorry guys.
