200gig wd on ide to usb2

hi recognised in disk managment try to initialize saays it has but it aint,
cant partion or format it tried on master and on cable select on jumpers
any advice plz thanx

didja try WD Data Lifeguard? its WD's own disk utility... i used it and my 200gb WD works fine.

some USB ports wont support hdd's the front usb ports on my machine wouldnt recignize my usb 2.0 hard drive

If its a wd they have a special jumper setting for single drive. A lot of controllers don't like the WD's without that setting on the jumpers. Thats not master or CS but single drive. In my experiance this usually happens on the 8mb cache WD's. Don't know what it is you have.
