Is your computer overclocked/overheating? F@H tolerates little/no instabilities.

Are you working with a normal graphical client or a console (text looking) client???

I think it's the graphical client he's using. Just a hunch:

A Google brought up several old threads relating to the problem. None really pan out. It appears that overclocking and using the -advmethods flag are common causes. Since it doesn't appear that you're using -advmethods, -forcesse, or -forceasm flags, my guess is system instability, either from overclocking or possibly bad hardware.

As John D stated, add the flag -verbosity 9.

Chip, give us some specifics on that machine that is giving these errors such as processor, mobo, ram, psu and if it's overclocked or not, as well as folding temps and hsf you are using. Something isn't quite right with that machine for some reason. Gromacs isn't using any SSE optimizations according to that log, indicative of system instability.

You might just have to do a little troubleshooting to find the problem out here. :eek2:

mine does that if I overclock too high ...or if my core voltage isn't set high enough ...or if the system overheats.

I am on the road right now so can't access that computer to get specifics. I don't know what overclocking is, so if it is an action an operator takes to tweek the system with configuration changes to get higher processing speeds (just guessing from the name), I haven't done anything like that. My simple computer knowledge doesn't extend much past the joy of sucessfully finding the on/off switch :)

I do remember using the -service when I followed instructions to set up the service. And there is a file FAH4console.exe.

On my other computer, when it works on the "tinker" files (finished a frame) it often encounters errors and ends up deleting the work and starting over. But when it works on the other (completed 100000 out of 100000 steps), it seems to do fine.

Don't know if that helps or not.
