What is '180 Search Assistant'?

I got a call for help from a friend who said that she received a message that said '180 search assistant had been removed and her programs may not work properly unless it was reinstalled' and that she needed an internet connection to reinstall the program.

I told her to choose the remind me later button and logged on to see if someone could help me with this.

So who can help?

sounds like a spyware infection - it would be best if you could somehow get us a hijackthis log

That message is a lie - the only thing that won't work if 180 is not reinstalled is 180 - which is a piece of spyware garbage.

I figured it was best NOT to reinstall anything that needed an internet connection. Now what is Hijack . . . where can I get it in order to produce the logs you've requested.

(Can you tell I'm kind of new to this?)
