Im still a little stunned by this.. but here goes..

I was walking into work this morning, listening away to Fear Factory when my beloved ZEN NX locked up and stopped working.

I didn't have time to look at it until now and it would freeze on the EAX screen and then go into a rescue mode. Doing any of the functions brings up a "disk drive problem" screen :bawling:

Panic set in, so I consulted the mighty oracles at the nomadness.net site :)

Their solution to this "common" problem?

Whack it one on the side :eek2:

So with nothing to lose. I did.

Turned it back on and it worked. :eek2:

;D ;D It appears Im not the first person to bash it with a hard thump to make it work again. Apparently something gets stuck inside and a firm whack will return it to it's former glory ;D

Bizarre

Good read my thread about how I got Doom 3 working, I think you'll enjoy it, it's along the same lines.

That's exactly like dirty keyboards. Smack 'em hard and they work fine.

Mine did that once. I just pulled the battery and replaced it. Guess I manhandled it and knocked it back in place.
