Trojan.Bookmarker.Gen
NAV 2004 has not picked it up in the last 6 scans yet alert Pop-ups proclaim "Virus Alert" and list c:\Windows\System32\with varying .dll's. These files can't be found, deleted, or quarantined. A full scan will not show them. This PC has Norton Internet Security which have I grown to hate. Has anybody experienced this type of problem? The HJT log looks good, but I can post it if needed. :mean:

I've found that Norton is slowly becoming the AOL of antivirus. It's big, bloated, pretty, but not very effective for actually removing viruses. Please post your HiJackThis log and we'll take a look. You could also try one of the online scanners (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/) and see what they report.

Thanks Kwitko, but I had to give the PC back to the owner. The problem seems to be in control for now, but I told them to watch it close. I am thinking of avoiding working with Norten Internet Security all together. NAV by itself I can live with, but the two combined are to much trouble.

Well, if they still have problems with their PC, don't be a stranger. We'll do what we can to help.

In fact, why not stick around and pick up some more computer knowledge? The members here are some of the most knowledgeable I've ever met, not to mention some of the most dedicated (http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3).
