Please post your comments / views on the coming season.

Well, the new season British football officially starts tomorrow with the Manchester United Vs Arsenal charity shield game.

I went to my first Everton game of the season today. A 2-2 draw with Real Sociadad. Marcus Bent looks promising, an unusual combination of Power, height and pace. I am hoping for us to finish mid table this season and not have a repeat of the abysmal season we had last year.

Can we please try to keep the "Football sucks", "Footballs crap" "your teams crap" comments down to a minimum please.

/me will delete posts that slate Everton (only kidding ;) )

Long live the blues :ukflag: http://necropolisuk.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/flageverton1.gif

The Dallas Cowboys would stomp United Manchester any day. UM prolly wouldn't have any players left after injuries also.

Mate, its Manchester United and have you seen Roy Keane play when he's pissed off. I doubt Dallas Cowboys would have any players left :) Then of course there was arguably United's best ever player, one Mr Eric Cantona, who, when he got pissed off with a supporter decided to leap into the crowd & do a Kung Fu kick on him. Very entaining :)

But seriously, I think Chelsea will take the league this year. Any other season and they would have won last year but because Arsenal had such an amazing season they didnt. The team has has a year to settle now, with only a few new players brought in and some of the crap weeded out I think they will take it.

Oh, and Mondi do you think you will still have Vieira by the time the season starts :eek2:

Hey, a man can dream cant he :) ... Wenger and I both agree on this:

linky (http://quote.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=10000102&sid=a0wOH1XeVTJE&refer=uk)

but still ... Chelsea have a really good chance, and there will definitely be some grudge matches this season, all in all, if theres some good football played, then I really dont mind either way ...

Fox Sports West, to be honest, i was looking at the stats today, and I think Arsenal only has 1 game over ManU for the last five years (something like Arsenal 17, ManU 16, draw: 7) ... should be a good match

ill talk to you tomorrow morning :)

Well you're supporting the wrong team too. Your team is Portsmouth, aka Pompey, and that would be the Hampshire variety, not New Hampshire. ;D

And Arsenal take the Charity Shield by 3 goals to 1. Great game, proper end to end stuff. And proved Arsenal's power is in their counter-attack.

Hang on, did I miss something. All you where missing was Van-Nistelroy and Saha. The rest was your normal team.

Just check the pic. Your starting 11 and 3 of your subs are 1st team players.

Well apart from Saha And Ruud, there was no Rio/Wes Brown, No Ronaldo, No Heinze with those players United would have been a much different proposition,

And IMO, United suffered from having that friendly vs Urawa Red Diamonds postponed, as the whole United team looked to be lacking in match-sharpness, which will come after a game like the one today.

All will be fine at Old Trafford this season, especially if United sign Rooney eh Necropolis??

well see, if we want rooney we can get him, but not for silly money that the Everton board are hoping for, we could pay about 30mil i reckon, but by all acounts Rooney is going to sign a new deal with a fee-release clause, letting him go for cheaper

Hey, hang on. I never said that you where a weak team. All my initial point was, is that Arsenal showed their strength in their ability to hit teams on the counter-attack. Even you have to admit that you had a really poor season last season in comparison to your others in the last 10 years or so. All you won was the FA cup. I can see this being Ferguson's last season if you do the same again this year.

I would like to say it would be an Everton win but I dont think it will. If I want to be honest with myself and after watching you play on Sunday, I can see it being 3-1 to Arsenal.

That and I can see Chealsea beating Man U 2-1.

Well, I have been that busy that I clean forgot to update this thread.

After the 4-1 thrashing by Arsenal we took it was nice to see the blues keep their heads up and come back to beat Crystal Palace 3-1 with only 10 men.

Now with all the stories about Newcastle putting the $20m bid in for Rooney (they wish) and Everton getting £20m off some Russian investor then maybe we can buy a few more players.

Well, everton better start planning now coz things are not going to get any easier. Rooney IS definitly going to be leaving, there's no doubt about it but who he is going to is another question.

You did well against CP but that's a club you had to get a win over. Good luck for the other matches.

As for Man Utd, well, we're going to kick @$$, I hope ;D. The 1-0 loss to chelsea was unlucky but WE ARE THE BEST AND THATS ALL. :)

You want to pull your head out of the sand a little and have a look whats going on around you. Did you see the Arsenal game on Sunday? Yes they may have been loosing 3-1 at one point but to bring the same game back to 5-3 is amazing. Their movement was unbelievable especially on the counter attack. Chelsea are starting to gel as a squad and are looking dangerous.

Well, after a crap week for the team I have come to 2 conclusions.

1. We are going to sell Rooney after the little **** put in a transfer request (once a blue, always a blue my arse)
2. We are going to stay up this season after watching them beat West Brom. All we need to do now is put the money we get of Rooney to good use.

Everton made a big mistake. Everyone knows rooney is leaving, if only they had let him go during the summer and taken the money from us (Man UTD) than you could have brought some new players but now your goin to have to wait until January and I don't think everton can cope.

Just let him come to us, it good business all round ;D
