Sudenly my computer froze up. HD light was on solid. After waiting several minutes, I rebooted it. It posted, the showed the IRQ page, and at the bottom was:

Verifing DMI Pool data....
Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM:
Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM:

NTLDR is missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Det to restart

I restart and it comes back to the same place each time.
I put in my XP Pro disc, tried to get it to run a repair, but no go. But part of that may be I don't know the correct command line to type in.

Can anybody help here?
Thank you;
Dragstk

When you are at the recovery console off of your XP cd, go into i386 folder and get a copy of the file and place it in your root directory. Seems to me there might be a problem in the boot.ini file.

Here (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q314058) is a link to commands to use in the repair console.

Thanks, Clutch. It's all for nothing. I just ran the Western Digital test floppy. It says there are to many errors to even run the test. Western Digital says replace the drive.
So, until I can scrape up enough money for a new drive, it will just sit there.
Not a good week...2out of 3 of my computers have crashed and burned...and I have NO money.
Oh well, life goes on.
