slideshow app for linux?

anybody know of a slideshow app for linux that takes jpgs from a folder then makes them into a slideshow w/ transitions, etc.?

Gallery can do this, in a web enviroment. You could set up a local web server, and add the images to the gallery, but thats a long way to go for showing images on a local machine.
