Newegg has just started carrying the new models of the VGA Silencer by Arctic Cooling.
I just ordered the Arctic Cooling VGA Cooler ATI Silencer 3 which should be the correct model for the MSI 9800Pro 128.
There are a variety of different models for different cards and budgets, 5 in all. Different ones for ATI and nVidia cards are produced.
As I posted on a different thread, here are the two to be compared:
Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer 3 $17 w/ Free Shipping on Newegg

Arctic Cooling VGA Cooler ATI Silencer 3 $40 + $6 Fedex on Newegg (I got mine for $35 but thye raised the price on all the models less than an hour later...)

I don't know why, but the new VGA silencers have been in stock here in Hong Kong for a few weeks already.. (I thought USA gets this kind of stuff faster?)
Anyways I got the NV Silencer 5 for my 6800GT and it is real good, dropped about 10 degrees celcius off my load and idle temps along with making the card quiet!

Version 3 is the wrong one. You need version 1 for the MSI 9800 Pro... back to the ordering form... They're not gonna accept a torn up box...

They are.. :D
My 6800GT has one by default (Galaxy Glacier). Overclocked to 420/1.2ghz!!! (default is 370/900mhz) and temps are 62c under load (three hours Doom III)

If anyone wants to buy my ATI Silencer 3, which was just taken out of the box and never used since it didn't fit right, for their 9800 Pro 256 MB or 9800 XT... let me know. smigdig@hotmail.com
They are out of stock at Newegg so you can't get them for now anywhere else.

I want one, but not until I really feel like blowing $55 on a heatsink for my vid card.
I'll have talked myself into getting one by the end of September for sure... ;)

both of those shown above will work on your card. You might not even be able to find a silencer 1 ...I've never seen one myself.

I have a couple of those on 2 x 9800 Pro's, one by ATI, the other by PowerColour (I think).
They're very good. Silent running and dropped temps by 10C or so in both instances. And they cost about £9.00 to £11.00 in the UK.

Um. To do that, I'd have to open up case, take out vid card, detach cooler, take pic, then remount using some more AS5, and put it back.
With the greatest respect mate, I honestly ain't feeling that charitable atm :(
Suffice to say, I have the older version of this cooler on two machines, the version that was originally sold as fitting all the 9800 family.
The two plastic push in connectors holding original heat sink/fan, the holes they go through line up with the VGA Cooler's mounting holes and there's two bolts that go through those holes from main assembly into a plastic bar with captive nuts that sits on the rear of the card.
The bolts are tightened through main assembly into the bar to hold the cooler in place.

o i thought u ment u had the ati silencer 3 not just the vga silencer.
that is why. the ati silencer 3 has 4 holes in the card to mount the heat sink not just the two that hold on the stock heat sink.
I have 2 sapphire 9800pro with 2 vga silencer rev 3's and both cards have 2 diagonal holes for the gpu sink to mount.

yes they all have the the same heat sink mounting holes but the ati silencer 3 uses 4 screws to hold on the heat sink just not 2 like the old arctic coolers.
hmmm ...so which holes do they use?
