Hey all,
well after my recent upgrade to the soyo KT600 Dragon Ultra and still using my GF4 ti4200 i now have artifacts in every game i play most are there even during startup >< and well i dunno what to do. I have tried rolling back from the 61.77 driver , im currently using the Omega 56.72's which should work fine (in fact this was all fine before the swap)
Now is there a conflict with my card and the mobo (which says it only supports 1.5 v AGP cards (which is what mine is i believe) like i get artifacts when BF42 is starting (even on the EA screen) huge horizontil lines and even the login screen was all white lines...it was horrid!

PLMK if you have any clue whats going on cause if this things on it's way out i need to know now@!

might want to check for overheating

open the case and use a floor fan then see what happens

also did you do a OS reinstall after the swap

yeah im gonna check the overheating thing now, also how hard is a OS reinstall? I didn't do one after the swap :/ will i just insert the CD and go from there or is there something i need to do to make sure it all goes smoothly

ok well i forgot to add this tidbit, i changed the AGP apature size in BIOS to 512 meg memory and none of my games would launch , put it to 256 and they launch with horrid artifacts, so it really seems like a overheating issue but if all else fails i will just do a claen wipe and reinstall of everything :( just gonna take me a bit

try setting it to 64

make sure you uninstall the old motherboard drivers then install the new board drivers

A friend of mine all of a sudden developed artifacts with his ti4200. Turned out dust was under the fan causing it to rotate slower and not cool as well. Won't hurt to give it a good ol cleaning.

Definately check to see that the Vid Card fan is spinning properly. I've had 3 GF 4 fans croak in the last year.

Also Drop down to 512MB Mem and see if that helps. Different mobos can be picky about memory. What's your FSB clock, Mem clock and CPU Multi & clockspeed?

Also try inceasing/decreasing vAGP. Change from AGP8x to 4x or vice versa

well to update:
I did a complete format and reinstall clean drivers and all and it's still there....so i think it may be narrowed down to a heat issue, im gonna try the stuipd large HS fix Geeky posted and see if that works if not then well the card is DOA and i will have to find a replacement:(

well on a rather odd note....i just noticed that my older lite on CD drive died...and i took it out of the case and the first (and only game i have ) works fine now Oo
could that have been my issue all along?

*EDIT* NVM it came back after about 2 mins so its really leaning towards the heat issue....but why now all of a sudden after working fine for so long?

Oh well ill keep a eye out for a new card just in case

Did you get a chance to check for dust?
