testing network

I just bought a netgear 5 port gigabit switch and 2 gigabit network cards. Is there any programs I can use to test to see if Im getting full speed. They all mention in manual I could hit 2Gbs is that possiable? thanks

No, I'd imagine they mean you can (theoretically) hit 1Gbs each way, the combined speed at full duplex being 2Gbs.
