Systems are XP Pro
1 motherboard is a KD7A with a XP 2400
Other is a KD7E with a Duron 1600 @ 2200
Both computers working fine, now the modem will not connect.
What happens is the modem dials, then there is just a beeping noise. Long beep, gap, long beep, gap.
Check the phone lines there ok. Same problem with both computers.
Any suggestions?
Ta

Are these machines using the same dial-up account? Maybe its just something simple like your ISP is having the problem not you. For 2 different machines to display the same problem I would check that first.

Nope
One is a *gulp* AOL account :rarr:
Other is a tesco.net account
Tried also using various PAYG accounts, but didnt work.
I havent really tried anything with the machines, as it might be something simple that someone here knows. Otherwise I will have to do some messing

When you go into hardware config both modems test fine?
No resource conflicts or anything like that?
Have you updated any software recently?
Maybe even firewall or other security software? It could be blocking the outbound signals.

Get a cable and connect them and see if they will talk to each other.
