So A customer walked in and has given me £1000 to build a computer for his kids. I know what I am going to build him. What would you guys build? The price is for the rig, mouse, speakers and k'board. No monitor required. They will be playing games on it...

Radeon X800 XT 256Mb. Possibly an Opteron 64 bit based system. You know the rest ;)

That is excuse #7 in the book. It will be his toy too.
Put the big video in and it will be a decent game platform for a few years to come.
