I've been trying to sell my '93 Toyota pickup for a while now... I've advertised it on a Toyota Pickups newsgroup, I've put a classified ad in the paper, and it was on cars.com... I advertised it for almost $300 under blue-book value (10% savings) and nobody bought it! Any ideas what I should do? I can't really afford to lower the price much more...

what does the ad say?

When it ran, it said "1993 Toyota Pickup. 162K. Auto, A/C, tilt, CD, $2500 obo" and then it had my number. I got some calls on it, but only one guy came and looked at it and he never called back... he probably bought a cheap $hitsubishi or something...

Hmm, you are prolly in trouble because it has 162K on it, even though it'll go longer. Whats the body like?

What type of Toyota pickup?
Tundra, Tacoma, T100? (Tacoma is the truck, not the SUV, right?)
I think the 162K is probably a huge contributing factor as to why there has not been much interest shown, but there's no way around it, unless you just don't want to list the mileage.
Does it have leather interior or cloth? Cruise control? What color?
Maybe you could say something like this in your ad (assuming it's a T100): 1993 Toyota T100 (Red). Automatic with Air, tilt, leather, CD & Cruise. 162K. No reasonable offer refused.
If you have a relative that used to be in the car business, give him a call and ask for the best wording. Also, if you have a Carmax in your area see what they will give for it.

No, it's just a pickup, the model was called "Pickup." 162K isn't a lot on a Toyota, though. No cruise, it's white with a great body, the interior is cloth (There was no leather in these as an option, cloth was the option instead of the base model's vinyl). I only really need to generate one person worth of interest, as long as it's the person that buys the truck! :D

I know the blue book says $2800, but you're gonna have to drop your price. I wouldn't pay 2500 for any car with that many miles and I don't many people who would. Unfortunately I doubt you're going to sell it for that much. I'm not putting your car down either. If you went to a dealer,I'd say they might give you $400-$500 for it, probably less. advertise it for $1500, you'll probably sell it.
If you can't afford to sell it for that much, hold on to it. Why do you want to sell it, to get a new car? Also, I often see peeps posting about cars they're selling on [H] and they generally get pretty good response, you might want to try that.
