This MIGHT be a dumb question, but here goes.
I leave the PC on 24x7, merrily folding away. But, I set my monitor to power down after a few minutes. Since I am not sending any video signal to the monitor, is the video card "working", and producing heat?
Reason I ask, my PC sits idle (me not in front of it) for most of the day. It seems to me that if I am not there doing video things, there is no reason for that chip to be working, and no reason for it to be producing heat. This SHOULD lead to longer life out of my video card (assuming decent HS/fan on it), before it goes melty.
Thoughts/experiences? :scratch:
