Be sure to remove your headphones first though, it damages the cones!

That's like putting eye drops up your nose because you got a cut on your arm. Wrong meds you got there.

Antihistamine, if you can take them, is what dries up the liquid flow-- but your doctor might be wanting to know about it before you start taking Antihistamines. The Claritin LOOSENS stuff gathered too hard and thick and gooey in sinuses to relieve headaches.... So it can drain. Once the stuff is clear and you have too much, let the doctor tell you how to stop the flow....

Straight_Man, who had LOTS of allergies for many years, and whose doctor prescribed Drixoral (mostly antihistaminic) before that was released to non-prescription use. Now I just use that, but some folks need to talk to the doctor first, it can sometimes have side effects you need to know about.
I live with my allergies and I don't bother with allergy medication. So, do what I do when I have a running nose and don't feel like blowing all the time. Take a sheet of toilet paper and shove it up each nostril. That way, your snot gets absorbed into the TP and you don't have to blow as often.
Just don't go out with TP shoved in your nostrils ;D.

I think you just started a new fad.
LOL. I just do that at home. I'm not brave to show that "new fad" in public. Though, I've once seen a guy in my high school do that for a nose bleed.

dude, sometimes you just do what you gotta do. There have been times in my life where the allergies were so bad that I didn't care anymore - tissues went in and out I went.
Strangely, my allergies seem to be "cured" - when I was a teenage (12-16) they were UNBEARABLY bad. Now, I haven't had an allergy attack in like, 5-6 years.

Are you sure? Or did you just forget to take the tissues out of your nostrils...? ;D
Same, my allergies aren't as bad as when I was a kid but my allergies weren't as bad as Jengo's.
I just sneeze like crazy when my parents burn incences (religion thing).
man.... sometimes my allergies get SO bad that i cant even get out of the bathroom for like 20min cause i keep sneezing a liquid practically flows out of my nose... its like someone turned the faucet on in my head and is reliving me of all my clear water like liquid... sometimes i wake sneezing.. then i blow my nose.. fade away to sleep... then like half an hour later i have an attack again in my sleep...
damn allergies... I HATE YOU!!
Mine get that bad sometimes Jengo, I feel your pain. The worst for me is during summer when I am cutting the grass, with all the crap in the air from the mower I will sneeze for like 20 minutes straight, it is so horrible.

allegra has worked better for me than zyrtec and claritin in the past. all three of these medicines take a little time to get going in the body unless it has pseudephedrine combined with it, usually 24 or so hours. take nyquil and get some good sleep, the claritin will likely kick in really well in the morning.

the first allergist i went to thought i had allergies. he did a skin test and all, and he put me on allergy shots for dust mites and dust. after a few years of that doing nothing, i went to another doctor and had my skin test results faxed to the new one. he said i hardly was allergic to dust mites and dust, and instead i just had allergic rhinitus, or as he called it, a sensitive nose. he put me on nasonex, and my life has been infinitely better ever since. if i don't take it, i get very sick with allergies very quickly, so i'm sure i've still got what i always have. i kind of feel like i'm addicted. i don't know if i could handle life without nasonex now that i've had it.
Awww, Celcho has a sensitive l'il nosey-wosey. ;D
Sorry. Couldn't resist.

I got one of those skin tests when I was 10. What a horrible experience.
They basically take a tray full of needles (48 needles on mine) and on each needle is a different allergen (pine, dust, dander, etc.)
They put the tray on your back, and PUSH DOWN on it. Fun!
Then, the best part. If you're allergic to one (or multiple) allergens, your back will start to itch like crazy. The nurse sits there and holds your arms down because (especially at 10 years old) you CANNOT RESIST THE URGE TO SCRATCH. You can't scratch for TWENTY minutes. What a nightmare. I'll never forget it.
