Unable to delete registry keys and dll's

For some reason I cannot delete keys and dll's even in safe mode, as if they are in use. Is there somewhere else I can access these items to be sure they are not in use and can be deleted?
Any help with this frustrating situation would be appreciated!

Why don't we start with this: What exactly are you trying to do? This sounds like a spyware problem. If it is, let me know, and I'll move this to the Spyware forum. Then you should read our steps and post a HJT log so we can help fix the problem.

I originally tried a more descriptvie post, but by the time finished my computer had locked up. Here goes: recently my computer has started freezing and indicates the cpu is at 100% and i suspect the ram is maxed as well. The event viewer is full of dcom and service control errors. This seems to be a result of some recent software additions. When I tried to uninstall the programs I get an error from Add/Remove Programs, so I tried to delete them manually but also get an error message that access is denied. I can't delete the registry values either, and get a message that all the values cannot be deleted. It seems that during one of the crashes all my restore points were deleted or I would try that. Hijackthis shows items that I have been using without problems.

Well, for key deletes, Prime is right-- I would look at what HJT says, and write down the file names and paths and then delete the keys, restart windows, then the .dlls should be deletable AFTER that restart. BUT, make sure the .dlls you are killing this way are in fact malware or unwanted, and not in fact .dlls used by legit apps or the O\S also. Go very carefully, please! If not sure back up registry and then rename your .dlls and do not physcially delete them until you have had a chance to test and make sure they are not needed!

As Prime said, would help greatly to know what exactly you are trying to do.

I'm not sure what to do next. Ad-Aware Pro and Spykiller did not find anything. HijackThis only shows items that I have had for awhile and were not causing problems.
Is there a way I can delete registry and dll items from the c: prompt? Maybe then whatever is disabling the delete feature in safe mode would not be running.

Trying to delete all registry keys from the program I was installing when my computer first froze up. I get the message "Unable to delete all specified values" when trying to delete them. It boots in safe mode every other time now and freezes on a regular basis. Any ideas why I can't delete these values or what may be preventing deletion?

Would you mind posting a HJT log, because it really does sound like a spyware problem.

If it's not spyware, then it might be hardware. A computer that freezes most likely has something seriously wrong with it. You may want to test your memory.

Well, once again after typing my reply I was prompted to login and lost the entire post, which explained the logs contents. Hopefully you can view it and let me know what you think. The only entry I have no idea about is at near the bottom http://tools.ebaying.com, which I plan to delete. The other entries have been there since I used HJT last month when I first found out about it. I made no changes during that scan.
I still can't get Panda AV entries out of the registry. I disable Norton as directed at install but I think the two clashed. I ran the memory test and it showed no errors, although I wonder why ECC is not enabled? I changed my registry setting for level2 cache from 256 to 512 and purged the pagefile on both partitions and it seems to be running smoother. I've got my fingers crossed.

I deleted the things you mentioned and the entry about ebay. The kmw is most likely my Kensington Mousworks trackball. When I tried to reboot I got an error message I saw a couple of days ago. The instruction at "0x651eeb93" referenced memory at "0x0000000c". The memory could not be "read". Not sure about the program name. Here's another log:

Sorry to jump in with my 2 cents so late. Just found this post. I am having the same issue with a system I just rebuilt from scratch, so there is definitely no spyware. I need to delete two keys for the CD-ROM drive, since they are inserted by Roxio and cause the drive to not be recognized.

I am getting the exact same error, in safe mode too.

Sorry I have no solution for you, but thought you should consider the possibility that spyware is not the cause, although cleaning up is always the best idea anyway. I'll respond if I find the resolution.

google, download and install malwarebytes.org free scanner AND ccleaner.
