Any terrorist crap is beyond the limits, but now they are holding CHILDREN hostage?

I hope those children come out OK, but.... well I can't say it.

I just hope it doesn't turn out like the other time where people died cause of the gas the Spetsnaz used.

This really hit me hard today, because i just had "first days of school" with both my boys last week. I can't imagine what those poor kids must be going through right now. I almost teared up thinking about it.

I am no parent, but I have a 6 year old brother I care about alot back in Texas. While I doubt anything like that would happen, it's still a possibility. I read that the parents sent in a letter/video asking Putin to obey the terrorists demands...

You know, i have this torn up feeling right now, cuase I truely believe that they should not give in to the terrorists. but at the same time.... those kids may die if not.

God damnit! THIS IS WHY TERRORISTS ARE NOTHING BUT COWARDS!

Chechen nationalism has been the cause for less than respectable tactics for dozens of years, and its generally been ignored by international media and the United Nations, as some view it as a product of the former Soviet Union's neglect. If you'd ask them, they aren't terrorists, they are fighting for the sovereignty of their country. However, I find this deplorable, if you're going to fight for your freedom or political reformations do not use children and innocents to shield your cowardice.

I've been watching the news for the last few hours. I really don't care what 'cause' these scum are trying to push, I hope it fails totally. This is beyond evil. The swear filter won't let me say what I'd like to and I don't have the words anyway. Why are there such moronic dickheads in the world?

It just shows that Russia will not negotiate with terrorists. Putin doesn't **** around. I think it's a small price to pay in order to not bow down and sacrifice your society's beliefs. Even if my own kids were in a school, captured by terrorists, I'd realize that even if they were killed or wounded, it's much preferable to the terrorists blowing up the whole school and killing everybody's kids. People have to realize that even if the terrorists' demands are met, they're still going to be killing people, because the terrorists themselves are ready to die, and they know they're going to die. They've got nothing to lose in killing innocent civilians - in fact many of them think that's the noble thing to do.

You know if the rest of the world got behind a REAL multi national counter-terrrorism team which shared information and jurisdiction (similar to Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy), I fully believe we'd much more effective at eradicating this mindset from the Third World.

Er no it does'nt, the Russian's wanted to wait it out and negotiate but their hand was forced when some of the booby traps went off either by accident or on purpose. Some reports are saying that it was caused by some of the hostages trying to escape. They were then shot at by the terrorists which forced the Russians forces and some armed locals to retaliate. This then forced the special forces to go in with guns blazing & without too much off a plan. Early reports are saying that not all the terrorists are of Chenchen descent but Arab or African but this is unconfirmed and particularly alarming.

Also to correct an earlier statement, Chechen Nationalism has not been the cause of less than respectable tactics for dozens of years but only the last in about the last ten (not that I condone it or that it makes a difference but we should get the facts straight). They've been fighting a war of independance against particularly brutal Russian tactics, including genocide, ethnic cleansing & vote rigging to name but a few.

Either way, the tactics used have sunk to a new low and i don't think Putin will get out of this one unscathed. My thoughts are with the victims families tonight.
