Finally! My computer Turns Off

Yes! I'm so happy because my the problem with my computer is resolved :)

Who remembers a thread I made asking for help with Shutdown?

I have a Compaq Presario and I phoned Compaq's Hardware Line and after a little help I reaslised that a program called 'ctfmon' in the startup tab in MSCONFIG was the cause. After unchecking the 'ctfmon' my computer restarts and shutsdown normally.

I also shut down ctfmon, but I'm lucky it wasn't hosing my computer just wasting resources. More info on it if you're interested can be found here...

That site has helped me out many a time....another program which is great at analyzing and deleting unwanted startup programs is PCForrest StartMan.
