First off, the forums look great.

Now, the problem I'm experiencing is connecting to my school's digital art server from my dorm room PC. I'm not familiar with Apple servers in the least, however Kudos to whoever designed them, very easy to access from the iMacs that are in the art lab. Now I have the server address, and can log on correctly from the machines in the actual lab, but when I try from my dorm, nothing seems to work. I have tried Telnet and WS_FTP, both to no avail. I'm just curious as to whether or not it will actually work, thanks in advance for your tmie and patience.

Well, let's start with this: What kind of networking are they using? That's a very basic question - any of the department's IT staff should know. If it's running OS:X Server, it's probably using AppleTalk or SMB. If ANY of the Macs in the lab are OS 9 based, it is very likely AppleTalk. If it IS appletalk, you are essentially screwed, although there are 3rd party appletalk stacks for windows - like PC MACLAN. I haven't messed with AppleTalk on windows for quite some years, so I'm a bit rusty.

If you have OS X then this article should help (http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2002/11/19/mac_pc.html)

If you don't....third party sofwware is required to set up a "neutural" partition that both systems will use for file sharing.
