E-machines, being the nice people they are, locked up most of the bios, in which you need to get to, in order to overclock. In other words, they remove most of the options in the bios so idiots and n00bs dont fry their machines by doing stupid stuff. You wont be able to OC that emachine. and thats my opinion. Go build yourself a new computer if you wanna OC that badly =D oh and there IS no way to unlock it.

A.D., don't feel bad. Even mainstream, corporate HPs, Dells, and Gateways come with locked BIOS's. The more standardized and lower-priced a system is, generally the fewer options the owner has, whether it be upgrading, tweaking, expanding, or overclocking.

A_D, how about the rest of your system? Good stuff? Video card, drives and such. Maybe you should just get a new mobo and swap it all over. It would be the low cost option.
Then we can show you how to spend real money latter.
Anyone know what case they used for that guide? I've been looking for a case like that for sometime now.

i figured if i got a new motherboard an proc i would have to get a new power supply as well... i might just get a barebones kit and use my harddrive, dvd burner and such but that indagraded intel extream graphics can kiss my ass..lol a 32 MB gforce 2 outperforms it. but yes the rest of the computer is fine other than i cant overclock it an the case is ghey (no extra slots in front) and only has a cpu fan an a powersupply fan.
yea i like you all here,im used to other forums that if you mispell the slightest little thing you get flamed for it an you all seem nice so im stayin :headbange

Just joking. I'm glad you've found Short-Media. We really do care about each other here. (Arrgh, Leo gets all warm and fuzzy! I'll have to flagellate myself tonight.)
