I am having a time of things.

I am buying a new house, but the sellers are in the middle of a divorce (I think - either that, or they are seriously messed up people) and the female half of the partnership has just gotten power of attorney to sell the house. But she is a businesswoman who travels a lot, so she is routinely gone for a week at a time to Europe or wherever. So, when she's "around" it's time to get business done.

So, I need to move now because school is starting up and the kids are going to be in a new school district and we're half moved out of our current house anyway - we boxed up a bunch of stuff and are keeping it in storage until we move. So, our current house is like, bare, and we're going nuts trying to keep it spotless in case anyone wants to look at it to buy it.

I need to come up with $8000 in about a week because the lady is going to be gone again for two weeks. There's nobody in my family who can lend me the money (I of course would be able to pay it back as soon as my house sells) because I come from a poor family :bawling: so my wife is stressing, I am stressing, and it's just been a rough time..

Sorry, I needed to vent.

Anyone have $8000 they'd care to lend me? ;D

I wish I did bro. That's a sad story, I've been there myself many times...do you have a second car or perhaps a gun collection you could sell/hock? Extra jewelry, coins, collectables?

8,000......just about the profit on a lb.....not that I would know.

EDIT/ ask her if she'd go contract for deed on the remainder of the down pymnt. If she really want's out of the house she may do it. Hope that helps bro.

I will give you $1 million for one night with your wife. Errr, on second thought, I don't have $1 million. I'll give you... (reaches in pocket)... $7.43 for, uh, 3 seconds with your wife.

Sorry to hear you're facing a pickle prime and I also hope your home sells real soon. As for anything substantial to lend to you, I don't have it at this time...next Friday would've been another story. :(

LOL TD, I'll kick in another $7.43 to get you 6 seconds.

Sounds nasty Prime, lets see what we can do. $8000 is roughly £5000. Time to break open the old piggy bank.

/me with a tear slowly crawling down his cheek wraps his piggy bank in a towel and places it on the table. After reflecting for a few moments pulls out a hamer and smacks it good. With a hint of glee in his eyes Red Dawn peels back the towel surrounding the now useless piggy bank and begins to count to asorted coins.

£1.26 is all i got prime, if i wern't an unemployed student and i had the cash i'd lend ya it. But as things stand i have enough for a single bus fare and maybe a bar of chocolate

I did have some spare cash that I would have lent you in a heartbeat but I have just handed over £1800 for my holiday. Sorry about that. Wish I could have helped.:(

I will kick some funds in if Prime has a PayPal account. I will not have cash on hand to cover for a couple weeks, but have this thing called a PayPal Visa.

//Edit: turns out PayPal will send funds to his email address-- a bit of help sent, how much is between me and Prime and God.

You guys are amazing. I truly appreciate the gesture, and I was being facetious when I asked if anyone had money I could borrow. I truly appreciate the offers, but I feel that in good conscience I must decline, because this is a personal matter that I have to wrestle with. But the idea that you guys would offer up your hard earned money just astounds me. I'm completely flattered.

It just goes to show what an outstanding group we have here, and the team spirit that makes this place so fantastic.

Thank you!

Not really, because you can't really take out a bank loan to cover the down payment on a new mortgage. It's like borrowing money to borrow money. Plus, when you're getting a new mortgage, you have to be really careful not to mess with your credit ratio. By taking out a small loan, I would be skewing my credit ratio so that I might suddenly be declined for the actual mortgage.

Lesson learned: When I was buying my first house, my wife and I got excited; we were young and in the process of buying our first home, and we decided that we wanted to have a piano in the house. We found a piano dealership that was going out of business and we went there just to look. Well, they had a beautiful piano for under $2000, and they were offering low financing, like $40 a month for this thing, so we bought it, figuring we could afford the $40 a month.

Well my mortgage guy was pissed. He said he had to work over all the paperwork over again, it screwed up our points and our credit ratio, and what the hell were we thinking, etc. etc.

I sucked at life too :)

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Keep reminding yourself that they are only temporary.

Well I did have 1,400 I won in court about two months ago, but most of it is already spent, I would have glady sent it to you, parents wouldn't have liked it but hey, honest people sometimes get in binds and need help. I'm sure we coulc build up some kind of fund raiser to get some cash flowing in. Maybe if I go rob a bank? ;)
