i remember there is a certain way when you type in the phone number in google, it will show their name and their address and such.
im trying to do this, because my dad had a check, and it's no good, what is the best way to recover that money??
"< Area Code > < Number > - < Number >"
EX:

I usuall have good luck with anywho.com for reverse lookups.
If the check is no good what makes you think that it is a real phone number?

Well, it might not be, but if they used the phone number they have to talk to the person that they sold something to or worked for, then they might get info worth follwing up on.

in the US, try AT&T's Website Directory. You can search practically anyone.
In Canada, try either www.canada411.ca or else www.411.ca for the most up-to-date phone listings (maintained by Bell Canada).
