netgear router and hotmail log in

Im losing my patience with all the tech support and have ended up here?

I've fitted a netgear dg834 router on windows xp and connected to aol. everythings fine except my partner can't access her hotmail account and the kids can't access windows messenger and i'm lost on the netgear tech pages etc etc. i think it's a firewall problem but need some plain english explanation as to what to do :ukflag:

what firmware are you running? try and update the firmware on your router. link is here

follow the documentation on updating the firmware. i'm hoping the netgear techs told you about the firmware and how to upgrade. the latest version is 1.05.00. hope you get it working if not post back

The reason I suggest this is that we have had a lot of users with those problems lately after having some spyware problems.
