I ... have heard the name Chernobyl, but that's about it ;D . So I pick door #3.
I would say to some small degree maybe...I don't think prevailing winds blow that way, though.

That thing was so huge I think it effected the health of the whole world, but by how much I don't know.
ps, what's the differance between effected and affected?
I got herpes from Cherynobyl......she was a mighty fine temptress.....oh wait...I think her name was Cheryl. Either way, I have herpes.

effect - cause and effect, something that happens because of something else
affect - influence something (the tv affected his judgement)
:)
No, it did not immediately, or in the passage of time affect our health. The effects themselves can be seen in our laws which changed after we saw what poor handling of a nuclear power can do.

No, I don't think that Chernobyl directly affected the health of anyone in the America's, either north or south. I do think that the terrible aftermath of Chernobyl has affected the whole world by making people rethink deploying nuclear power generation plants, especially graphite-moderated plants. Chernobyl also makes me wonder what will happen when countries like Iran and North Korea will do with the nuclear power plants they either have in operation or are building. If the Soviets were able to irradiate a vast area of their country and the US almost irradiated a large portion of this country (with the Three Mile Island accident), it just scares the hell out of me what these third world countries will do with nuclear reactors. :shakehead

Chernobyl is responsible for education of responsibility. That is all. Oh yeah, and the deaths of all who lived around there at the time.
